Oakland A's Danny Valencia is batting .294 with 13 home-runs and 53 runs-batted- in. Toronto Blue Jays' Kevin Pillar is batting .267 with 10 HR and 47 RBI. LA Dodgers' Joc Pederson is batting .215 with 24 HR and 50 RBI. On the pitcher's mound, Boston Red Sox reliever Craig Breslow has a 4.21 earned-run-average, and he has struck out 36 batters while walking 21 in 51 1/3 innings in 40 game appearances this season.

Basketball (Israeli National Team):
The Israeli National Team lost all but one of their practice games prior to the EuroBasket competition. But they won their first game, defeating Russia 76-73. Omri Casspi led the Israeli scoring parade with 21 points. The Israeli squad won their second game, too, icing Finland 79-66. Casspi scored just 10 points in that contest, and the high scorer for the Blue & White was Lior Eliyahu with 22 points. The Israeli team was defeated in a heartbreaker to Bosnia in overtime, 84-86, despite 29 points by Casspi in that game.
