The 2014 regular season has ended and 15 Jewish players suited up this past season. Rookie manager Brad Ausmus led the Detroit Tigers to first place in the American League Central Division with a 90-72 won-loss record. Tigers' second baseman Ian Kinsler (Jewish father) had a .275 batting average with 17 home runs and 92 runs-batted-in. The Oakland A's finished in 2nd place in the AL West Division with an 88-74 record. Oakland centerfielder Sam Fuld (Jewish father) batted .239 with 4 HR and 36 RBI. Oakland first baseman Nate Freiman batted .218 with 5 HR and 15 RBI. The LA Dodgers finished in first place in the National League West Division with a 94-68 record. Dodgers' left fielder Joc Pederson batted .143 for the Dodgers in limited action. The Pittsburgh Pirates were in 2nd place in the NL Central Division with an 88-74 record. Pittsburgh first baseman Ike Davis batted .233 with 11 HR and 51 RBI. Milwaukee Brewers' left fielder Ryan Braun (Jewish father) batted .266 with 19 HR and 81 RBI. Toronto Blue Jays' third baseman Danny Valencia batted .258 with 4 HR and 30 RBI. Toronto center fielder Kevin Pillar batted .267 with 2 HR and 7 RBI. Chicago Cubs' center fielder Ryan Kalish (Jewish father) batted .248 with 5 RBI. NY Mets' first baseman Josh Satin batted .086 with 3 RBI in limited action. Boston Red Sox catcher Ryan Lavarnway also saw some sporadic action this past season, but didn't get any hits in 10 at-bats.

Omri Casspi officially signed to play for the Sacramento Kings, where he played his first two seasons in the NBA. The 6.9" (2.06 Meters) forward has scored 2524 points (7.7 average) and grabbed 1258 rebounds (3.8 average) in 327 games in his 5 seasons in the NBA.

Senior Liat Vizenfeld is gearing up to help the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights on the lanes this season, which begins in just one month. She has been one of the top bowlers on their team the past few seasons.

golf Women's Golf (LPGA):
Morgan Pressel shot a 67 in the fourth round of the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic and finished the event tied for 34th place. She has made the cut in 18 of 23 events in 2014, with a 71.494 average, and earnings of $319,477.
hockey Ice Hockey:
Brothers Adam and Michael Henrich have both decided to retire from professional hockey. They both played in Europe and in the AHL, and last season they totally dominated the action on the ice for the Coventry Blaze in the British EIHL. Their presence on the ice will be missed. NHL veteran free-agent Jeff Halpern, who played for the Phoenix Coyotes last season remains unsigned. He has scored 373 points (152 goals and 221 assists) in 976 games, and he has been assessed 641 penalty minutes. Mike Cammalleri will be playing for New Jersey and recently signed a 5-year $25 million deal to play for the Devils. He has scored 502 points (236 goals and 266 assists) in 669 games, and has accumulated 340 penalty minutes. Eric Nystrom is returning to the Nashville Predators. he has 104 points (61 goals and 43 assists) and 366 penalty minutes in 487 games in his career. Mike Brown is returning to the San Jose Sharks. He has 31 points (17 goals and 14 assists) and 666 penalty minutes in 337 games. Evan Kaufmann is back with the Neurmberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the German DEL. He has scored 3 points (one goal and two assists) in his first 5 games of the 2014-15 season. Carter Camper, who starred for the Providence Bruins and the Springfield Falcons in the AHL last season, will be playing for the Ottawa Senators in the NHL this season. Trevor Smith is returning to the Toronto Maple Leafs for a second season. In 58 NHL games in his career, he has scored 15 points (7 goals and 8 assists).
soccer football Soccer (MLS):
Sporting Kansas City midfielder Benny Feilhaber (Jewish father) has scored 4 goals and 6 assists in 28 contests. Kansas City goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum has a 5-3-1 (won-loss-tie) record in 9 game appearances this season. He has played 765 minutes and has made 21 saves and allowed just 12 goals.
