On Thu June 9, 2016, Maccabi Rishon LeZion thwarted home team Hapoel Jerusalem's chances at a repeat, and defeated them 83-77 to take their first ever league championship in the history of the franchise. Shawn Dawson, a Jewish African-American Israeli, scored 21 points, making 5-of-6 shots from 3-point land, and grabbed 7 rebounds to help Rishon win the game. His dream is to make the NBA. Lior Eliyahu scored 9 points for Jerusalem.

Ice Hockey (AHL):

On June 6, the Lake Erie Monsters beat the Hershey Bears 5-3 in the Calder Cup finals. Carter Camper recorded an assist for the Bears, and he now has 2 assists in the series. Hershey is down 3 games to none in the best-of-seven series.
