Pre-Olympics Special Edition

As the 2016 Olympics are set to commence, Jewish sports stars are ready to ascend to the podium to receive their hard-earned medals once again.

gymnastics

Gymnastics:

In the 2012 Olympics, Aly Raisman earned two individual medals--bronze on the balance beam and gold for her floor exercises. She helped Team USA win a gold medal. As she approached the podium, her teammates joined in singing Hava Naglia. She dedicated her performance to the memory of the 11 slain Israeli Olympians from 1972.

kayak

Kayak:

Australian kayak champion Jessica Fox won a silver medal in the slalom event in the 2012 Olympics.

windsurfer

Windsurfing:

Israeli windsurfer Shahar Tzuberi won a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics, and he is a top prospect to earn another Olympic medal.

There are other Jewish representatives who will be competing in the Olympic games this Summer in Rio.
Among them are Israeli golfer Laetitia Beck, who is in her second year on the LPGA tour.
Alexander Shatilov and Neta Rivkin are two of Israel's top performers in gymnastics, and Sagi Muki and Yarden Gerbi are two of Israel's top judo prospects.
Israel's top swimmers include Gal Nevo, Yakov Toumarkin and Amit Ivry. ATP tennis star Dudi Sela will be representing Israel on the tennis courts.

All in all it should be another exciting Olympic games.
