Several of our MOT ("Members of the Tribe") are continuing to have a "hot" season this Winter.

ball Men's Basketball (NBA)--The Houston Rockets were grounded in a home-and- away series by Memphis on Jan 24 and 25. Omri Casspi scored 5 points in the first and 9 in the second. On Jan 28 the Rockets beat San Antonio 97-90 to up their season won-loss record to 30-17. Casspi contributed 5 points and 8 rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time.
ball Women's Basketball (Israeli Elite League)--Elitzur Ramle is virtually unstoppable. They defeated Herzliya 83-76 on Jan 23 and Hapoel Rishon LeZion 73-53 on Jan 27. Naama Shafir had 4 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the former, and she scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished-out 5 assists in the latter. Ramle now has a league-best 13-2 won-loss record this season.
bowling Women's Collegiate Ten-pin Bowling--Liat Vizenfeld helped the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights to a 4th place finish in the Kutztown Invitational. The Knights recorded just the second-ever Baker format perfect 300 game in the event. In the Baker format, 5 bowlers each roll two frames for their team. Vizenfeld blasted the pins for individual scores of 256 and 258 and was named the FDU Women's Athlete of the Week culminating Jan 26.
golf Women's Golf (LPGA)--In her first event of 2014, Morgan Pressel finished in a tie for 11th place in the Bahamas LPGA Classic. She was 14 under par for the event, with an excellent 66 in the fourth round, and she earned $23,945.
hockey Ice Hockey--Evan Kaufmann has 37 points (15 goals and 22 assists) in 38 games this season for the Neurmberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers in the German DEL. Playing for the Coventry Blaze of the British EIHL, Adam Henrich has 49 points (16 goals and 33 assists) in 29 games, with a total of 100 penalty minutes. His brother Michael has 36 points (9 goals and 27 assists) in 34 games. Mike Cammalleri still has not returned to action for the Calgary Flames since suffering a concussion, and with his 13 goals this season is still tied with Mathieu Schneider for the most goals ever for a Jewish NHL player, with 223 in his career.
tennis Women's Tennis (WTA)--Shahar Peer competed in three events in January and she is currently ranked 86th in the World. She has a singles won-loss record of 2-3 and a doubles record of 3-1 in 2014 with earnings of $60,819.
May they, and all the other Jewish Jocks around the globe continue to be successful this season.
