In honor of Martin Luther King Junior Memorial Day, who have been the top Jews of Color on the American professional sports scene?

Major League Baseball player Elliott Maddox, a Jew-by-Choice had his best season of his 11-year career in 1975, the year he converted to Judaism, batting .307 in 55 games (67 hits in 218 at-bats) for the NY Yankees.

Basketball player Jordan Farmar averaged 7.7 points and 2.9 assists per game in his 8 year NBA career. He won two championships with the LA Lakers. Farmar's best season was in 2011-12 when he averaged 10.4 points for 39 games with the NJ Nets. He made 44% of his 3-point attempts and 90.5% of his free-throws that season.


Men's Basketball (NBA):

Sacramento Kings' Omri Casspi returned after being sidelined for four games with a back injury. On Jan 13, he scored 7 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, dished off 3 assists and blocked 2 shots in 29 minutes, however the Kings lost to New Orleans 109-97 in Sacramento. On Jan 14, Casspi scored 10 points and grabbed 3 rebounds in 26 minutes as the Kings edged the Jazz 103-101 at home. On Jan 16, the Kings clipped the clippers 110-103 in LA, as Casspi scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including 5-for-8 from 3-point land, and grabbed 4 rebounds in 30 minutes of playing time. At this rate, Casspi should be back in the starting rotation soon.


Women's Basketball (Israeli Elite League):

Maccabi Ramat Chen has a 12-1 won-loss record thus far this season. Naama Shafir has scored 91 points (7.0 average) for them.


American Hockey League (AHL):

In 39 games for the Hershey Bears this season, Carter Camper has 22 points (5 goals and 17 assists).


Swedish Hockey League:

In 34 games with Lulea HF, Jacob Micflikier has 24 ponts (12 goals and 12 assists).


Austrian hockey league:

Brett Sterling continues to dominate the ice for the second season with Salzburg EC. In 37 games, he has 36 points (24 goals and 12 assists). He has been assessed 93 penalty minutes and he has a +14 rating.
