Boxing: Rabbi Yuri Foreman won his comeback fight on Dec 5, 2015, just before Hanukah. He won the bout over Lenwood Dozier in typical Foreman fashion--by unanimous decision after going the full 8 rounds. Foreman emigrated to Israel from Belarus and later studied in Yeshiva in Brooklyn and was ordained as an Orthodox Rabbi. He was the first Israeli citizen to hold a World boxing title. He held the WBA Super Welterweight crown from November 2009--June 2010. After recording a first round knockout against Javier Gomez in November 2013, Foreman retired due to an unfair contract. He decided to make a comeback several months ago, and began working out at Gleason's Gym in Brooklyn NY. Yuri's pro record is 33 wins (9 by knockout), two losses and one no-contest. |
