On August 17, Team Israel defeated Bulgaria, 100-84. Omri Casspi led the Israeli team with 19 points in just 24 minutes of playing time. Gal Mekel added 16 points to the winning effort. On August 20, Israel beat Montenegro, 80-65. Casspi again led the blue & white team with 17 points, and he grabbed 8 rebounds. Mekel had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. On August 24, Israel defeated Holland, 83-60, recording their fourth victory in a row, and virtually securing a spot in the 2015 Eurobasket tournament. Casspi again led the Israeli scoring parade, with 22 points, and Mekel scored 16 points.
golf Women's Golf (LPGA):
Morgan Pressel was tied for 23rd place in the Canadian Pacific Women's Open after a mini-slump in which she failed to make the cut for two consecutive tournaments. Pressel has made the cut in 15 of the 20 events she has played this year, and has earnings of $280,989 in 2014. Her scoring average is a respectable 71.55 for 69 rounds this year.
tennis2 Women's Tennis (WTA):
Shahar Peer is currently ranked 155th in the World. She has a singles won-loss record of 13-21 and a doubles record of 11-11 in the 21 events she has played this year. Peer has combined earnings of $216,292 thus far in 2014.
