Men's Basketball (NBA)--On Feb 1, the Houston Rockets soared over the Cleveland Cavaliers, 106-92, and Omri Casspi scored 9 points in 18 minutes against his former team. On Feb 5, the Rockets eclipsed the Phoenix Suns 122-108 and Casspi scored just 3 points in 14 minutes off the bench. | |
Women's Basketball (Israeli Elite League)--Elitzur Ramle hoped to defeat Hapoel Petah Tikva, which they did on Feb 2 in convincing style, 90-65 to end the regular season with a 14-2 won-loss record. Naama Shafir scored 10 points in the season finale, as Ramle is ready for the playoffs to commence on Feb 12. | |
Women's Ten-pin Collegiate Bowling--Liat Vizenfeld and the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights will be competing in the Delaware State Capital Classic Feb. 7--9. The Knights have a 56-14 won-loss record going into the tournament. | |
Ice Hockey (NHL)--Mike Cammalleri is back on the ice with the Calgary Flames, after being sidelined with a concussion. He did not score in his first four games back, and is still tied with Mathieu Schneider for the most career goals scored by a Jewish player in the NHL, with 223. This season, Cammalleri has 21 points (13 goals and 8 assists) in 41 contests through Feb 8. | |
Ice Hockey (Europe)--Brothers Adam and Michael Henrich continue their dominance of the British EIHL for the Coventry Blaze. Adam has 54 points (18 goals and 36 assists) in 31 games, and Michael has 39 points (11 goals and 28 assists) in 36 games thus far this season. Playing for the Neurmberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the German DEL, Evan Kaufmann has a total of 38 points (15 goals and 23 assists) in 40 games, through the first week of February. | |
Women's Tennis--Shahar Peer is currently ranked 86th in the World by the WTA. Through her first four events in 2014, she has a singles won-loss record of 2-4 and a doubles record of 3-1 with earnings of $61,669. | |
