Basketball (NBA)-- On Jan. 3, the Houston Rockets squeaked by the NY Knicks 102-100. Omri Casspi scored 5 points in just 6 minutes of playing time off the bench. Casspi is averaging 8.2 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 34 games this season, and the Rockets have a 22-13 won-loss record. Men's Basketball (NBA) On Jan 8, 2014 the Houston Rockets improved their overall won-loss record to 23-13 and their home record to 15-5 as they sailed over the LA Lakers 113-99. Omri Casspi contributed 9 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in 21 minutes of playing time off the bench. |

Women's Basketball (Israeli Elite League) On Jan 6 Naama Shafir scored 9 points and dished off 3 assists in 28 minutes of playing time. Elitzur Ramle lost that game to Ashdod, 80-64, and it was just their second defeat of the season. Ramle's won-loss record stands at 9-2. As of January 6, he had 32 points (14 goals and 18 assists) in 31 games for the Nuermberg Thomas Sabo Ice Tigers of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). Ice Hockey (NHL) On Jan 6, 2014, Mike Cammalleri scored his 13th goal of the season as the Calgary Flames toppled the Colorado Avalanche 4-3. It was his 223rd career goal and he is now tied with Mathieu Schneider for the most career goals for a Jewish player in the NHL. |
